I know you know all this, but thanks for letting me talk........you remember, I take care of more than one person. And help with others. So I am busy. My mother is on the other side of the country, and although my sisters live near her, and they keep an eye...of sorts.....they are getting older, too, and driving 6 hours is not as easy as when you're 35 or 45.....or even 55.
So, I get to fly back and stay with Mom for a week or two every couple of months. See what the caregivers are doing. They are nice - a mother and daughter team. 24 hrs a day. Luckily my father had the wisdom to get very good long-term care insurance, so they ar nicely paid. I don't get paid, but I have a secret...oh, please don't tell anyone!

When I go back, I feel like I'm on vacation! God forgive me, but I don't have to take care of my disabled husband for a couple of weeks - and when I am there, I don't have to cook, they do it! I give them a few days off together, but I order in EVERYTHING! And I take my mom on little trips, and she may not remember them, and I may have to go into the bathroom with her so she doesn't stay there for hours, but, it is like a VACATION!
Is that wrong? Everyone tells me how wonderful I am to do this, and I never argue - but would they think the same of me if I told them? Do I care?

That's why, I'm talking to you, because you are sleeping......and, even if you were awake... you can't remember anything anymore my friend....
