Monologue Mania Day # 1191 Floating by Janet S. Tiger (c) May 19, 2017

This can be done with one actress - or two - depending on the availability of actors and a director

                                                       Floating

(Not necessarily)   a monologue by Janet S. Tiger
                                                (c) all rights reserved (c) 2017

(This version is with two actresses - one older, one younger)

YOUNG -  (Smiling)  I can't believe it!

OLDER -  (sighs)  Can't believe it....

YOUNG -  I never thought....I mean.....he....he....

OLDER -  Never thought......I mean....he....he....

TOGETHER-  Kissed me.....

(Both whirl around, the younger one faster and excited, the older one slower, more careful, yet still happy)

YOUNG -  Ever since I saw him......I knew....

OLDER -  His children walked in with him.....

YOUNG - He came in with his kids.....he's married.....

OLDER - He was married two times......

TOGETHER-  But I don't care!

YOUNG -  Because his lips were so soft......

OLDER -  He's still strong......

YOUNG - And I felt like.....I don't know.....

OLDER -  It was like the first time....I don't know....

TOGETHER -  Like I was floating....

(The two come together and dance for a moment, then split apart)

YOUNG -  I know there's no chance for me....but.....

OLDER -  He's too old.....I'm too old......but.....

(They hold hands and start to walk off together, stop, look back)

TOGETHER -  It's nice to be floating!

(They exit....but never the end for a first love)
