Monologue Mania Day # 1178 Closing Night by Janet S. Tiger (c) May 6, 2017

On the closing night of Caregivers Anonymous first run Apr30-May 6 - with much appreciation to The San Diego Foundation for funding this, for Playwrights Project producing, for Trish directing - for an amazing cast and crew (see here - CaregiversAnon.org) and for all caregivers!

(The playwright comes out onstage, yes it's me - can't put anything over on this audience!)

There is something about the last night of a show.

All the excitement of the first night is replaced by the events in between, but last night has a moment of sadness mixed in - no matter what we say, how we'll stay in touch - and many of us do! - but there's a good chance that we might not work with some of these folks again.  Or they may move....or move on to a better place.

So we hug, and have a party, and drink champagne - or soda! - and we sign things, exchange our favorite stories as the curtain goes up on the end.

(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)

In some ways though, it's not the end....it is the beginning of....a memory

(For everyone involved in this first stage of CAREGIVERS ANONYMOUS - SDF, PWP, family, friends, cast and crew- and the audiences who helped us learn what works- a very heartfelt thank you!)
