(Male actor -20s/30s- enters slowly, checking something on phone/laptop/electronic device that can be carried easily)
So many! Which one to pick?
(Looks up, surprised)
Oh, hello! Sorry I'm late....but, you see, I'm a little pre-occupied.....I need to make a choice - which one of these is the best......
(Looks up)
Oh, yeah, I guess you're right, kind of like what we're doing....but......I mean, they all give dividends, so putting money in is not a bad idea.....but some of them, well, the ex-dividend date is close, others it's further away....
(Listens)
Sorry, I forgot, your profile said you didn't know much about stocks, I do appreciate you giving me a chance.......(listens) yeah, I can explain.....well, when a stock pays a dividend....like say, AT&T, they pay it as of a certain date.....so if you own that stock on the day they declare that's called the declaration day......the ex-dividend date is the day after.....so you can sell the stock on the ex-dividend date and still keep the dividend!
(Smiles)
I'm glad you understand it! A lot of people don't, and I need a spouse who does because, well, I'm a broker, and it helps to have someone you can talk to, right? By the way, what do you do?
(Confused)
What? You do what? You date...exes? Is that a joke? An ex-date?
(Runs after the other person)
Where are you going? I haven't had a chance to tell you about options!
(Exits to learn about dating options in the real world)

Ex-dividend dates are explained if you click here
At this time, there is no real way to explain dates between human beings.
