Monologue Mania Day # 1378 Paws to Say Thanks (for Thanksgiving) by Janet S. Tiger (c) Nov. 23, 2017
Paws to Say Thanks
(A dog emerges with a napkin around the neck.)
Ruff! Ruff! Thank you, now that I have your undivided attention, I want to let everyone know my words will be few. That's of course, because I'm a dog, and have a limited vocabulary.
This is a holiday about thanks - and I wanted everyone to notice that this is one of the few holidays, nay, the ONLY holiday in the year, which does not rely on gifts....did you ever notice that? Yes, my friends of all numbers of legs, no presents are required on this day.....only your....PRESENCE...get it? P-R-E-S-E-N-C-E! Pretty good for a dog, huh?
But you know I'm right, on Thanksgiving, you just show up and be thankful for all your blessings - for the friends and family that make life worthwhile - like all of you right here!
(Stands on hind legs and waves paws at the audience, bows, then starts to bounce off, stops, looks back, smiling)
.......And.....now.......let's eat!
---------------------------------------------------------
For my family and friends - and that includes the non-human ones, too! - thank you for reading and commenting and please know that every day I am grateful to have you all in my life !
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

First posted Day #1015 Paws to Say Thanks by Janet S. Tiger (c) Nov. 23, 2016
for those who are noting that I have re-run now three monologues in a row, please remember that four days ago, I posted SERVED COLD - a brand new one-act play of 6 pages and two characters! That's gotta count for at least a few days of 1 page monologues! Thanks for understanding- and I promise a brand new monologue tomorrow - I would have had it done now, but I'm STUFFED (yesterday's monologue by the way!)
