In Defense of Pimple Porn

(Actor comes onstage with a small device in hand, holds it up)
Do you know what this is? It is a (says this precisely) a comedone extractor. Beautiful isn't it? Small, but oh, so useful! What exactly is a 'comedone extractor'?
Simple...it's a pimple popper.
Ooh, I hear and feel the disgust rippling through the audience....
(Shivering as if slime touches)
Soooo disgusting! And why TALK about something SO disgusting......well, here's the scoop - you already are. Every day, on every channel and every TV and every Internet site.....you hear about...the latest scandal!
And the one now with Harvey, and Kevin and even Charlie Rose! One of my favorites!
And let's not forget the politicians.....and even.....the President! Make that....presidents!
You watch it, you thrill over it! yet when faced with a simple.....pimple......the noses turn up! The skin crawls! How fast can we get away!
It's a sea.....it's the ultimate sea - rocky and rough and yet oh, so fascinating....I bring you...Hypocrisy!
At least with pimple porn you get the truth - plain and simple - ok, maybe it's better as insane and pimple! but at least no one tries to trick you into thinking you are going to watch something, maybe learn something....beautiful...when you watch pimples a-poppin' all over the human body!
Little pimples that burst forth like volcanoes....biggies that are like a mountain exploding!
Oh, the horror!
Yet people watch.....the pimple porn....just like we watch Harvey and crew.....watch as the press sinks into giving EXPLICIT descriptions of sex acts! In papers and on websites! Where children can read - because after all, this is NEWS! How the mighty are fallen......
And so we are entranced...until another horror story with people being killed, or people being tortured, or even people just beating each other up....takes over and we watch that. Bored with the same story - just told by different faces.
And, like the pimples, often the pus and vile contents.....are not all gone when the extractor seems done. Under the skin, more pus, more infection....more politicians waiting and cowering, because no one has popped them yet.....
(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)
So, before you judge those of us who love a good juicy pimple! Please think....what did YOU watch today?
