(Rose Neumann has a slight Austrian accent, she is carrying a basket, looks to the crowd)

Hi, remember me?  It's Rose, Rose Neumann!  You remember me.  I knew it!  Don't run away!  You, have you had a good day in the ocean?  Have the nets come back full?  For some of the people here in our city, their bellies are not full, and so I ask you.....a few fish!  That's all.....I'm not asking for anything too much!  Just for you to remember what it was like.....my friend, I know when came here from where, Portugal?  Times were not easy, but other people helped you, right?

So today, I ask you.....please help me....again.  This is just my second day here.  And I  am not asking for a giant whale, just something, something to keep a few people from going hungry.....oh, I see you remember!  Come on, just fill this one little basket here....only a few pounds, that's all it will take!

(She leans the basket over, smiles)

And for the rest of you, you don't have to worry about this basket now, it's going to be full.....

(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)

But I'll be back tomorrow!  It's fun, fishing with Rose!

(She leaves, laughing, one of the original Jolly Sixteen who founded many local charities, including JFS - Jewish Family Service, who is celebrating its 100th year)
