Monologue Mania Day # 1717 Almost Halloween (for Halloween) by Janet S. Tiger (c) Oct. 29, 2018
(Part of the countdown for Halloween - only this is..... the real scary stuff)
Almost Halloween
(A child enters with a large calendar.)
My Mom gave this to me, so I could always know what day it is.
Because I was always asking when my birthday is.....but right now my birthday is very far away! It's in April - which is like to the moon!
And Christmas is .....
(Scrolls through calendar)
It's in December, which is a lotta days from now....(sad)and next week, I gotta test in school..(very happy)....but today, today is only two days from ....HALLOWEEN!
It's almost Halloween! And I can get bags and bags of candy! All for me! And I don't have to share any of it with my brothers and sisters!
(Listens, hangs head)
Well, maybe I have to share a little! (Brightens) But I can eat a lotta candy! More than any other day except my birthday! Last year I ate all the M&Ms and every single candy corn and I threw up all ovah the stairs in front of Mrs. Macias' house! And everybody was laughing....well, alla the other kids....and the parents were mad....but.....when I got home.....I snuck some more candy!
(Rubs belly, smiles)
Wow, that was the best day of my life!
(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)
Almost Halloween! Two days! I don't know if I can wait that long!
(Runs off to the future)
