Monologue Mania Day #  1699 Greatest Fear by Janet S. Tiger (c) Oct. 11,  2018

(Part of  the countdown for Halloween - only this is..... the real scary stuff)

                         Everyone's Greatest Fear

(The actor has to be coached onto the stage.)

(Almost babbling)  I'm not afraid, no I'm not afraid!

(  Very slowly, the actor comes to look out at the audience, shivering and sweating.  Takes out a paper and it almost rips with the shaking of the hands)

Humma....humma....humma.........humma...humma

(Holds paper close to face, reads too quietly to hear)

Most people are more afraid of public speaking than death...

(Voice from the back - Louder! - the actor jumps)

(Almost yelling)  MOST PEOPLE ARE MORE AFRAID OF PUBLIC SPEAKING THAN DEATH!

(Looks at audience, drops paper and yells)

AHHHHHH!

(Gets so nervous, runs offstage, but stops at the edge and looks back)

Happy Halloween!

(A true story - for many people!)
