Monologue Mania Day #  1705 The Mystery of the Missing Monologue by Janet S. Tiger (c) Oct. 17,  2018

(Part of  the countdown for Halloween - only this is..... the real scary stuff)

The Mystery of the Missing Monologue

(The writer - me! - is talking, because the mystery is because of ....me!)

Last night I was starting to work on a new one-act - Halloween related - and realized that I could not finish it!  Ooh, scary!  All my faithful readers wondering where was the monologue at 2am?  What happened to it?  A mystery!  Scary!

Ok, maybe nobody noticed, and maybe I was too tired to finish a one-act in ten minutes, but I am thinking about the issue of scary, of mystery, of wonder.....

Maybe it all started back in the Garden of Eden - curiosity not only killed cats, but it also made sure we got kicked out of paradise.  And for what?  Why did we have to know what that damned apple tasted like?  Was it a test?  Kind of like the noise in the basement that we have to investigate?  (And what was so great about Eden anyhow?  OK, no arthritis, but also, no Internet!)

I think we were born this way - with an inherited love of mystery......which is the basis of scary.  What is going to happen next?  The basic element of life - no matter how we think we know, we are always wondering.

Our love of figuring out stuff - the mysteries of life! - is part of this big picture - and that is what the Halloween one-act will be about.....maybe.   It's still.....a mystery!

(I turn to leave, well, maybe I just type this out!)

Thank you for reading and commenting - much appreciated all the support!

(Now I exit - from this site - for now!  See you all tonight.....unless......something scary happens.....and ....-to be continued!)
