Monologue Mania Day # 1466 Doggy Death Row by Janet S. Tiger (c) Feb. 18, 2018
Doggy Death Row

(Barks ) Hey, what did we do? All of us here, on Doggy Death Row! You know who I'm talkin' about....(Barks loudly) .....yeah, I'm talkin' to you!
I mean, so I bit someone? That's what I do! I'm a dog! It's not my fault - it's my owner, they shoulda had me trained, they shoulda had me fixed!
What happens to them? Nothin!
Oh, they cry, boo hoo!
But I go to the big house - and to that big doghouse in the sky! I hear they zap me - give me a shot of something to finish me off. No trial, no jury of my pee-ers, get it? Pee-ers! It's a stupid joke, so shoot me1 Wait, maybe shooting is a better idea than gettin' zapped.....
(Gets down and scratches)
Anyhow, okay, I got it, for me, maybe I shouldn't a bit that mailman.....but that little poodle, she didn't hurt nobody! What was her crime? Bein' too cute? And that old guy, the retriever? What about him? He got old and the family moved, so they left him behind like an old sofa! He didn't get no trial either!
(Turns to leave, stops, looks back, hangs head)
What I wanna know is, if the humans get to pick a last meal - how come we don't!
(Shakes head sadly, then raises it and howls)

It's a dog's life......
