           (The actor enters, sniffing loudly)

You can always smell a lie......although reality has its own distinct odor, too.  Reality is what permeates a room when all the gas of bullshit has floated up......

Here's some of my favorite lies......

There was one from the past....the check is in the mail.  This was used to stall bill collectors.

Then you have the obvious children's lie grown to adult size for some big whoppers - and I don't mean the burger kind -this lie is a negative......-  I didn't do it!

Let's not forget the ever present ......but wait, there's more!  Because there is never more, just as there is no guarantee that is lifetime because the lie is embedded in the very word....lifetime.  Whose lifetime?  The life of the flea watching the commercial?

And what about the one that is now my favorite......as soon as I hear the words, a giant buzzer goes off in my head.   I just had it happen - the person on the phone was sending along a device (should have been the first clue)  a device to help my phone get better reception.  The nice lady said to me.....'it's very easy to install'.....I laughed in her ear.......but the joke was on me.  The item arrives and there is an instruction booklet of maybe 100 pages - in 4 languages....... was it easy to install?  I won't lie to you....I don't know....because I couldn't do it!

And here's the last, biggest lie of all....

Everything is going to be all right.

Because when you have to say that....it isn't/  At least not right away.  That tornado that flattened your house has made a BIG mess!  And that letter from the IRS, never good.

So......when you are ready to recognize the truth from a lie......just remember......

'it's easy, everything is going to be all right.......'
