Monologue Mania Day # 1253 Every Day a Holiday by Janet S. Tiger (c) July 20, 2017

(Actor walks out onstage and faces the crowd, smiling)

What national holiday is it today?  Here's the hint....

(Goes to turn around and starts to moon the audience, but is stopped by people yelling from offstage)

All right!  It was a pretty good hint......today is National....MOON Day!

Actually, National Moon LANDING Day - because on July 20, 1969,  we landed on the moon - I mean, not me, but humans.  And then they not only landed, they walked around on the moon.

And here we are, decades later, and finally we are hoping to go back, and maybe even further.

Before the moon landing, what was July 20 known for?  A famous birthday - Alexander the Great - because we know exactly when his birthday was because of the Internet......or Natalie Wood's b-day - or Columbia declared independence from Spain...what a day!

So why do I want to celebrate the moon landing by mooning everyone - maybe because.....if you look at it right......in just the right way.....every day's a holiday!

(Exits to a year of holidays!)
