(A woman enters, she is dressed nicely, nods, SoutheastAsian accent)

Thank you for seeing me.  I know you are busy person, so I will talk fast.

You have big restaurant.  You have much food that you throw away.  I want that food for my organization.  We feed people who do not have food.  Some are on street, others are in house, but have big rent, no extra for good food.

You are lucky man.  Lotta food.  Lotta money.

You send letter explain why you cannot give food.  There may lawsuit if someone get sick.  You are worried.  This is not good excuse.  Other places give food, no problem.

But I tell you reason you want to give us food.  Not for tax deduction, not for help others.  You give food to help yourself.

When I was little, our family had lotta food.  We live in Vietnam.  Had cooks, lotta servants.  One day brother make me mad.  I throw my noodles at him.  Make mess.  No problem, servants clean up, throw away food.  My father see this.  He is mad.  He tells me something I never forget.

He say, you waste food, you give away luck.  You give away food to hungry, you get luck.

(She takes a deep breath, this is hard to tell)

When we have to leave Vietnam, we on boat, have no food, we meet other boat, they give us food.  I eat mine fast, then I see, one person drop noodles,  and I see a noodle on floor of  boat.  Very dirty, but I jump and grab noodle and eat it.  It taste bad, but I don't care.  I wish had more noodles.  I remember noodles I throw at my brother and I cry, wish I had noodles.  I remember father's words. Maybe my throw away food is why he not live in war.  And I promise one day to have food.  To not throw away luck. To get food to others.....so today, I come to you, offer you chance to save luck for you, for your family.

You have money, you have food......but everybody need more luck.

         (Leans forward to listen, smiles)

Thank you.  I will tell others to come pick up donations.

(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)

Can have too much food, but can never have too much luck!

         (She exits to help others)
