Monologue Mania Day # 727 Hide 'n Seek by Janet S. Tiger Feb. 8, 2016

(Older man comes through audience, looking for something, comes onstage, scratches head)

When I was a kid, I loved games......tag, stickball, Monopoly......but my favorite was Hide 'n Seek......now, it's my game again....but not so favorite because now - like a lot of things I do - I play it..mostly....all by myself..!

You see, every morning..... I wake up and I hide a whole bunch of things.....my keys, my wallet, the remote...my cell phone.....sometimes my bottle of pills....three pairs of glasses......if it's cold outside, my gloves and scarf.......socks of every variety.....and.....

Then, I spend the rest of the day.....seeking them.....

(He looks around, poking under people's chairs in the audience.....squeezing coats......no luck),

A good thing - just like when you're a kid.....there's a lot of exercise involved.....And sometimes, with the help of one of my children or a neighbor....I find some of these items....

(He holds up a found item in triumph, turns to leave, stops, looks back))

....but unfortunately.....not one of my lost marbles....

(He exits to continue the search)
