Monologue Mania Day #778 The Caped Wonder (for Caregivers Anonymous) by Janet S. Tiger (c) Mar. 31,  2016

    This follows immediately after yesterday’s post, Day # 777 Mar. 30, 2016 …..New Journals

                                                The Caped Wonder
                                                 (for Caregivers Anonymous)
A monologue by Janet S. Tiger

(Another woman jumps up, holding a cape)

How was my day?  Let me show you.....

(She whirls the cape around and drapes it on her shoulders.)

Can you see the giant 'N'?  You know what that's for......it stands for a new superhero....my mom....Naked Woman!

(She dances and run around the stage)

More powerful than a locomotive!  Able to leap out of almost locked windows in a hundred bounds!  It's not a bird.....but a bird brain....It’s not a plane.....it's Naked Woman!

(She stops and looks at the group)

Think I'm a little tiny bit crazy?

(The others shake their heads no and laugh)

You all know what I'm talking about!  We can't afford to put Mom in a home, and since she started....what's the polite way to put it.....forgetting to wear clothes......I invented this for her....I never knew it before….but when people get Alzheimers, they lose track of time, so they forget how old they are…..when she was little, she loved to run around with no clothes on……and so she has returned to those days….but at least she knows when she goes out of the house, she has to wear at least this cape, I made it big enough to cover her completely...... as long as she has a belt…….
You see, as a small child....she loved Wonder Woman.....and now....she gets to be her own super hero!
         (She holds open the cape)

And I....I get to be her faithful sidekick......Cape Woman.....following her out with a belt, so when I catch her, I can make sure she is covered......until we get home, and hopefully there are not too many cuts or abrasions.....and no one has called the police.....

(She takes the cape off and uses it as a bullfighter's cape)

And ......when she is asleep....I pretend that I am fighting for all the lost children......in Neverneverland.....

(The others cheers as she bows to sit down.  Blackout)
