(Horatio laughs, then realizes the other person was serious.  Horatio takes a bottle and pours two drinks, same Southern accent)

Well, well, well. I thought that you, being in the business 'n all, would know exactly what I was talkin' about!  But can't you see what I'm sayin'?  After all, you know in your heart, I'm tellin' the truth......from experience.

Ninety percent, that's a conservative estimate, too.  My dear friend Cesar Romero, he used to come here for years and play....not because he like card games either!  His expression was.....all actors are gay, some just don't know it yet.

          (Listens, laughs)

Prejudice?  Is reality prejudiced?

Think about it....you're an actor and you're gay.  So were all the men here tonight.  And most of them, as you know, are considered......oh, I just love this term!...'he-men'!  The best!  And they are.....the best actors, because they have to be.

Think about it, my new friend......you knew when you were a little boy who you were.....that it wasn't girls that made your heart go pitter-patter....nor did seein' nekkid women do anythin' else to other, lower parts of your body!  But you didn't tell anyone....why not?  Because it woulda meant that you would be picked on, and beaten up and.....hated.  By strangers, by your friends....by your family.

So you acted liked you liked girls.  Am I right?  Mmm...hmmmm, I know I am.  Every gay man who had to pretend....could be an actor.

And women!  Oh, women are actin' from the minute they are born, so it doesn't make a whit of difference which of them are gay- no one cares.  But men.....if we walk down the street, we have to act like that woman with the big front turns us on.....and that, my friend, is the beginnin' of a worldclass movie star!

Pretend.....it's all about pretendin'.......and you can pretend you don't know what I'm talkin' about, but I have news......you can't fool yourself.  And that, my friend, is why you are here with us tonight......you wanted to spend a bit of time......not pretendin.......

           (Lights down, end of scene)
