A few years ago - I am not stating the exact number of years so I can use this monologue forever!- a few years ago tonight...... was a very special night........ the last night I was pregnant with you.
I knew that tomorrow was going to be the day, I just knew it. Maybe because you were not the first, but the second child. Just like the first time for anything, there's a lot more nervous with baby one, What to expect, what to do........But you were my first girl.....my only girl......and I remember that first day when you arrived as if it was yesterday.
It was an easy delivery compared to the first, and you were beautiful.
With all the words I have at my disposal, I can't think of a better one to describe you, because you are still beautiful - or should I say, more beautiful.
More because you are an adult......and you are a wonderful soul. Loving, and with a great capacity for laughter, and helping others, and strength and joy and fighting spirit to get through the difficult times.
And I love knowing you. And I am honored to be your mother.........on this day, your birthday.....and on all days.
Happy Birthday, my beautiful girl! And many more!
