(Before we see him, we hear a man chanting, loudly.)

No!  No!  No!

(He comes into sight, his arms raised.  He is bursting with energy)

No!  No!  NOOOOOOOOOO!

                (He jumps up and down)

(Faster)  No, no no, no, no, no, no!  Did you hear us.....No, No, NOOOOO!

(He signals to the audience to join him)

Come on, they can't hear us, let's work together against all the wrongs that we have seen!

No.....say it!  No!  Louder....NOOOOOO!

                 (He nods)

That's great! You're gettin' the hang of it!

                 (He listens)

What?  I'm a protester, that's what!  And I'm protesting!  Can't you hear me?  Doesn't anyone listen?  Listen!  Listen! Listen to us!

                 (Listens, shakes his head)

You just don't understand......this is a time honored profession!  It's patriotic to be against....it's in the Constitution!

What?  I'm against whatever I'm not for!  How hard is that?

No!  No!  No! No!  No!

                (Listens)

Does it really matter what I'm protesting?  I mean, I just wanna be heard........ We have the right to be heard!

(He does a little dance as he shouts)

We just wanna be heard!  Heard!  Heard! Heard!  Heard!  Herd!  Herd!  Herd!  Herd!

(He marches off, waving his arms, happy in his anger.  He stops, turns back)

I just love these protests - lots of energy, lots of girls.... and a lot of them say..... yes!

Yes!  Yes! Yes!
                (He exits, smiling)
