Well, that was depressing! What we need now is one of our patented spirit lifters - folks it is time for....the caregivers fashion show!
(The group laughs and claps and one of the group brings out a box and distributes the contents)
Everyone thinks that caregiving does not have a fashionable footprint, well how wrong is that?
We have extra special clothing that is designed by scientists! Underwear that will hold a downpour - and still look pretty! And you can depend on that!
(One of the others takes a container of Depends and struts)
Okay, maybe we don't wear it, but ...maybe one day!
(Removes a hat)
And here we have special headwear for folks with no hair!
(Points to a member who waves socks)
For the other end - we present the foot coverings that only take an hour to put on - an hour on each foot!
(The group hoots)
And let's not forget the accessories....
(She holds up a large strap)
If you have a person who weighs more than 20 pounds, no one get through the day without one of these babies......The lift-belt!
(Another person grabs an object and Jeannie points)
Breathe easy - who needs a purse when you can carry.....an oxygen tank!
(A walker with a pirate flag attached is pushed out)
Every moment of the day....a new chance to make a fashion statement! There's cute hearing aids, all types of bandages.....motorized chairs with mufflers that play songs! We have it all! And let's not forget the ever fashionable feeding tube device we love to call the Kangaroo!
So, whenever you think that life is getting a little....stale...remember.......fashion is just part of the fun when you are a caregiver! Caregiver chic!
(The others pose with their 'fashions' - blackout)
