(Ariana is watching Isaac as he works on the board.)

ARIANA -  So this is the big law?  THE first law of physics?  I have to say, not impressed with the un-newness of it.

ISAAC -  You probably have heard of it before....

ARIANA -  Maybe, but I probably wasn't listening.  Let me understand what you just took many minutes to explain.....(she parrots back)  ......“A body at rest will remain at rest, and a body in motion will remain in motion unless it is acted upon by an external force.” ... This property of massive bodies to resist changes in their state of motion is sometimes called inertia.'

ISAAC -  (Very happy)  Hey, I think you got it!

ARIANA -  (Imitates Henry Higgins)  I think she's got it!  (As herself)  Okay professor, don't let's start dancing around.....before you get all spacy....this is the most obvious law in the world!  You might as well say the first law is that when you wake up, the sun is going to be shining, at least somewhere, because if it isn't, you wouldn't be getting up!

No, the basic thing here is that.....everything...RESISTS CHANGES!  That means people, and I may not be too good at math....okay, I'm allergic to math, but I do know a little about people, and everyone, just EVERYONE.....resists change!

The person who likes their coffee with milk but no sugar......won't drink black.  The person who likes to try every flavor of ice cream before choosing, that person will go crazy if you give them the same flavor twice!  Change is an enemy....change can mean trouble.....change is.....different!  And that my friend ....is the first law ....of the jungle!

(She imitates an ape....as the writer tries to figure out how to adjust the scenes to include this)

------------------------------------
And the laws do read like this -
The First Law of Motion states, “A body at rest will remain at rest, and a body in motion will remain in motion unless it is acted upon by an external force.” ... This property of massive bodies to resist changes in their state of motion is sometimes called inertia.

In fact, it is the natural tendency of objects to resist changes in their state of motion. This tendency to resist changes in their state of motion is described as inertia.
