(Actor enters, nods to different members of the audience)

Wanna hear my latest big complaint?  Okay, I don't care if you wanna, I used to care, but not anymore, because, that's in the past!  See, I have a new view on the past.  The imperfect past.

Now, people say that the past can't be changed!  Ha!
Of course the past can be changed!  I do it all the time!

And I'm not the only one!  Everyone changes the past!  You do!

        (Points to audience)

And you and you and you!

       (Points to all)

You remember the argument going one way - the way where YOU win - but the other person, they think the same thing!  And guess what - you're both wrong!  You both lost the argument, because if you are still talking about an argument from years ago - you both lost!

And what about the news?  Doesn't that prove what I'm saying?  They don't like a person, suddenly, the past changes!  The person who was idolized, appreciated, thanked, awarded for YEARS, then they do something not so good, or maybe really bad, or maybe nobody knows because EVERYONE changes the past!

And now that person is villified, and their awards removed, and everyone hates them, and their name is removed from history.....Time magazine revokes their cover!....oh, wait, isn't that from a sci-fi story?  Or Stalin?  Or Mao?

Removing someone from history, changing the past....see, it can be done!  With ease!  With alacrity!  With loud screams and quiet revision!

(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)

And as for our little talk right now..... it never happened!

       (Big Brother exits)
