(Woman comes out wearing sunglasses, takes them off, examines them)
I've had them for years and I love them.

They look nice, they weren't too expensive, but not cheap either.  Just right.  And they look good on me.  I get compliments.  I like the way they look and feel.   Okay, I love these sunglasses.

Ok, sometimes they get blurry, hard to see through and I have to pay attention - something has to be attended to, cleaned up.  The grease from the chicken got onto them somehow, so I have to spend time getting a cleaning wipe, making sure everything is clear, because grease is like that, it makes it hard to see.

Then they are all shiny and new, well, except for the scratches.  Can't get rid of those with wipes.  The scratches mark different moments - some remembered some forgotten.  The glasses dropped on cement.  Shoved angrily into a coat pocket to rub against the sharp keys.

Scratches but not cracked.

Solid and still lookin good.

Like us.

And one day, I know, they might disappear, gone forever.  Either broken and have to be discarded, or just....lost.....the time will come when they are...finis.

Just like us.

And I will have to look for sunglasses again.  Something I haven't had to do in years.  Something I really do not look forward to....because, I hate shopping.  I did a good job with the first, maybe....maybe I just won't go in the sun.  Or if I do, I'll squint.

It makes me sad to think of a day like that.  Very sad.  All things must end.....and I will miss them.

But for now...even with the scratches....even with the grease that still hangs on.....I still love 'em.......for now.......still lookin good.

         (Puts on the glasses)

Just like us......

         (Exits .....still with sunglasses)
