A monologue by

(Ariana and Isaac are just finishing an English class when she pulls him aside)
ARIANA - Did you hear anything that teacher was saying?
ISAAC - Sure, she was talking about Tennyson's poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade....and the six hundred.....
ARIANA - It's not just numbers, you idiot! I was watching you....nothing! Nothing of importance! Just words on a page -
(Quoting)
Theirs not to make reply
Theirs not to reason why
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred!
..... Into the jaws of death, rode the six hundred! Into the jaws of death, into the mouth of Hell! Not just numbers, but people who died, real, live young men! All the pain, and death, and all you heard were the NUMBERS! 600 hundred!
(She holds his shirt with both hands pulling him close)
Who all died because of the wrong message sent, the wrong message received......who all died because of.......miscommunication! (sighs) What is the point of all the learning in these...(very sarcastic) Hallowed Walls!...when what you hear means nothing to your heart - nothing to your soul!
(She pushes him away and runs off to her next class while he watches)
ISAAC - Somehow, I don't think she was talking about....the Light Brigade.....
