(A woman walks out with two bags, she is very happy with them, removes a bag from one)
There has been too much focus on hoarding on this Senior Channel, and I would like to set the record straight once and for all. I am not a hoarder.
The difference between hoarding is very obvious - a hoarder has a messy horrible place, but a COLLECTOR, now, a collector has all their objects ORGANIZED, like my bags here......
Artfully curated, not just any bag will do! No Walmart bags!
But this...... this is a perfect bag right here.....
(She holds up the bag in awe)
See the wonderful handles.....and the size.....exactly right for the handle size, because if the handles are too large, the bag falls, too small and they will rip if too much is placed into the bag....it is a veritable science!
And this one......
(She removes another bag from the bag)
This has a history all its own - my mother gave me this bag when I was only 18, and it has traveled with me across 20 states and served me through two husbands! The husbands are gone but the bag lives on! And was certainly more dependable than the husbands, let me tell you!
(She now removes a stack of bags)
And these are my extra special bags! They are bags given to me by friends through the years....from my dear friend Penny.....
(She holds up a bag)
You see, it has pennies all over it!
And this one......so beautiful!......I just love the colors......
(Holds up another bag)
It's from Laura......she's not around anymore.....so, sometimes I hold the bag and remember when she gave it to me......
(She turns to leave, stops, looks back)
And the difference between hoarding and collecting......when people visit and pay money to see it....it's not hoarding, it's a museum!
(She exits to more saving)
