Monologue Mania Day # 1643 by Janet S. Tiger (c) Aug. 16, 2018

(Due to my computer malfunctioning, this will be a rough draft- hope to be back to something resembling normal again soon!)
                      The Worry Hit Parade
                         a monologue  by Janet S. Tiger (c)  2018

(Actor runs onstage, lots of noise!)

Welcome to this week's special edition of....the Worry Hit Parade!

Better than the music hit parade - this is about YOUR worries!  And who's on first!

We start at the top 100 -  at number 99....we have Aunt Zelda and her bad knee...and close behind, at 97, at the same position for three weeks now.....Uncle Jody and his recurring psoriasis.....will they ever get well?

But there's a newcomer racing to the top 20!  Debuting at number 20, our dear neighbor Sandy, who was in a car accident!  She almost made it to number 10, but was not critical....so we have her holding tight, and with only some bruised ribs now....

She knocked grandpa down from his perch at 20 all the way back to 30 because the doctor said he's doing great!  So that was good, and cousin Freddie's suspicious mole is benign, thank God!  A dear one is flying somewhere.....and that new in-law might be fired and how will they pay the rent?  And there was a hurricane and a tornado....all near where someone we know lives!
and of course there are the usual worries about mom and dad, and the kids, and the grandkids, flucuating numbers that change daily, but never leave the top 100!

And then we got the sound....

(A phone rings, or many phones if possible)

The dreaded phone call!  A friend of thirty years is in the hospital! Marian had a heart attack and leapfrogs to number 1!  She is getting meds and may have to have an operation!

Lotta prayers going out to everyone!

Whew!

Will the Worry Hit Parade never end?

(Turns to leave stops, looks back)

Who's going to be the next chart-topper......on your hit parade?

(Exits to the sound of phones ringing)
