Monologue Mania Day # 1645  The Pal in Palindrome by Janet S. Tiger (c) Aug. 18, 2018

This blog was inspired by Richard Lederer (who is always an inspiration!)  in his U-T column last week - click here

                        The Pal in Palindrome

(Actor enters, dressed as professor, goes to board and writes numbers)

There, today is a special day, a palindrome day!

Look.....

August is 8, then today is the 18th so 8-1-8 and the year is 2018, so 8-1-8-1-8!

The same in both directions!

It makes my heart go pitterpatter!

And the next one will be 9-1-9-1-9  or Sept. 19. 2019!  And so on......

(Looks at the board in awe, smiles broadly, then shakes head)

(Sighs)  Now, when I show this to people, for some unknown reason, they are not really interested.....Thank goodness the numbers are my friends!

(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)

I guess you could say......I have a pal in palindromes!
(Exits to a world where it doesn't matter what direction you go!)
