(Actor enters in nightclothes - wild-eyed, worried)

It's the same dream, every time!  I am in the middle of writing something, and as I type, I get the urge to open a file drawer and pull out a random file.

(Actor goes to a desk and looks into a drawer, removes a bunch of files)

There it is...... I check the title, the same as what I have typed at the top of the page!  I am horrified, and I open the files.....and I look at the words......(horrified, reading)..........the same!

(Reads) It was a stark and dormy clever.....or so I thought,  What about the rest?

           (Looks through file in horror)

All the same!  I've written this before....word for word!  Only......

           (Wildly throws pages around)

How does it end?  I've forgotten how it ends!

(On knees digging through the pages)

Oh, my it is....the last chapter.....all written....before....except....

           (Opens the file)

Blank!  It's blank!  How does it end!

(Collapses onto the floor, shaking head, collects the files)

Will I ever find out how this ends?

(Puts the files back and runs off, then comes back onstage immediately)

It's the same dream....every time.......

            (Looks at audience)

Like I've seen it all ..........before.....I'm in the middle of writing something......

            (Exits while remembering the dream....again)
After 1008 monologues, you can imagine where this one comes from.....
