Monologue Mania Day #  1816 Why There Have Been No Posts Since Feb. 13, 2019  by Janet S. Tiger (c) Feb. 18, 2019

I will catch up, but here's the reason -

Why There Have Been No Posts Since Feb. 13, 2019

Hello to all my faithful readers -

Today was a particularly difficult day for my family, as my dear mother passed away this morning, two days shy of her 93rd birthday.

Mom had a wonderful life - for those who knew her, she was an amazing woman, smart, funny and with a memorable personality that made friends from all over the world.  Her generosity was such that, even now, we are finding items she had saved for friends and family as future gifts.

My brother (who took care of Mom, a heroic effort!) my sister and me- all loved her dearly and are working together now -which is a great blessing.

And although she was divorced, my dad sent his best wishes via card and phone call the day before her death. (Along with her many friends, who are able to tell her good wishes via the wonderful speakerphone!)

She adored her two grandchildren- and luckily her only grandson was able to come in from out of town in time to see her these last couple days of her life.

And her granddaughter sat with her last night for several hours reading from the Bible -finishing with Psalm 23.

Plus, although it was a few days early-her birthday was on Feb. 20- we told her we didn't want to miss the joy so we sang Happy Birthday to her yesterday
- we actually saw her smile!

And so we were all able to see her on her journey together.

We said prayers at the bedside, as she was in hospice at home.  We are very thankful that she was not in pain.

We feel blessed to have each other in these stormy times, and thank everyone for the wonderful support!

We will miss her greatly.

(The end of a beautiful life!)
