Monologue Mania Day #861 Disguised (Original and 30 second  version) by Janet S. Tiger (c) June 22,  2016

Original - today is the first day for this monologue - the 30 second version is below

(A woman enters - she can be any shape, but she has to be.....aware of whatever weight that is.)

My topic for this week is.....disguises.

Because I love them.  I live in one all the time.  See this weight.....it's a disguise.

Don't shake your heads like that.....you know I'm right.  We all have our disguises.....this is mine.  I used to weigh......something else.....but you never looked at me because you couldn't see me.  I was ...too fat.....too skinny..... too droopy, too..fancy.....too messy.....too.....too.....I could walk past you a hundred times in the street,  in the school, in the office.....in hell!....but now, you can see me....because I am here...on the stage.....and you have to look at the real Me!

Because THIS is who I am....now.

(She turns to leave, stops, looks back, points at people in the audience)

And if you think you don't have no disguise.....get yourself in front of a mirror and take a good look......you looked different some other time......be honest, ......you know it.....don't you remember.....   you were....disguised.....what's your disguise....right now?

(She nods and shakes her head, exits)
