Monologue Mania Day # 1247 Please Pass the Bag Forward! by Janet S. Tiger (c) July 14, 2017

If anyone reading these is sending comments, please know that I am not receiving them.  My goal for the weekend is to get these issues resolved - and back to my main concern - a monologue a day.

 Many thanks for your patience!

(Actor enters.  Okay, no pretense, it's me, and I am holding a hundred bags!)

I am the original bag lady!  I love bags!  Especially plastic bags, the ones they used to give away for free....and now, here in the land of California, I must remember to bring them to the store, and if I don't, I must pay for those bags.  Then I bring them home, and my husband lovingly folds and puts them into rubber-banded packets of five.  Which I put into the car....and which I promptly forget when I go into the store!

Everyone said I would remember in a month, then two months, and now it is SEVEN months!

What can I do?  There are now five bags of bags in my car - each bag containing 20 packets of five bags, so, 100 bags in each bigger bag times 5 - that's five hundred bags!  Times ten cents each!  That's fifty dollars!

Then I had an idea - after the one time in seven months I remembered.  I had a bag of 100 bags with me, and when I was in line, I saw that, out of 10 people in lines around me - ONLY ONE PERSON had remembered her bags!

So I handed out my bags......to everyone who wanted them.  And they were smiling!

I made a few new friends, and I told everyone that when they remember and bring their bags of bags, pass them around to others.  This way we all win - we save money by not buying bags we don't need - we help others who have forgotten, and we help save the planet - a win-win-win!

So you can do this, too!  Please, pass it forward - when you remember!

(Exits to share the bag wealth)
----------------------------------------------------------

Based on a true story - mine!  So please do pass along the bags - when you remember to bring them!
Thanks for being part of the solution.
